About me *

Baharan Eghbalzadeh is a Berlin-based interdisciplinary artist, writer, and researcher working across new media, performance, and critical writing from Iran. Her practice engages with the intersections of grief, cyberbodies, diasporic memory, and resistance, often translating lived experience into immersive installations, performances, and text-based works.

Her projects explore themes such as mourning rituals in digital space, the aesthetics of protest and resistance, and the politics of displacement and belonging. Drawing from her background in dramatic literature and new media design, she often combines archival materials and digital spaces to question how personal and collective memory is mediated, fragmented, and reassembled.

Alongside her artistic practice, she teaches at the University of Europe for Applied Sciences in Berlin, within the Art and Design faculty. Her courses span nonfiction narratives, performativity, media theory, and academic writing, with a focus on ethics, representation, and storytelling.

Her installations and performances engage audiences through multisensory encounters with sound, image, and ritual.
