Kitchen Sink Drama *

A woman sitting at a small white desk in a room with black and white walls. She is holding a phone to her ear, with a plate of food and several remote controls on the desk. There are baskets and hooks on the walls, a small trash can, and a large screen or projection on the wall showing another person in a blue-lit room.
A person wearing gloves and a shirt with a rooster pattern is standing in a kitchen, looking into a mirror that reflects the kitchen and the person's face partially visible. The kitchen has wooden cabinets, a washing machine, and various kitchen items on the countertops.

Kitchen Sink Drama is the prequel to Recite, introducing the character of Pantea. Once an acting student, Pantea abandoned her dream of becoming an actress to marry her husband, Payam. As a housewife, she is plagued by dissatisfaction and constantly daydreams about the life she left behind. She relives her past roles, embodying the characters she once played, until the line between memory and reality dissolves. Ultimately, she loses her sense of self and becomes absorbed into the kitchen itself, which consumes her former identity.

The play unfolds across two planes: reality and Pantea’s state of mind. Reality is projected onto a screen at the back of the stage, where Pantea appears in a real kitchen performing daily chores—cooking, cleaning, and maintaining the household. On stage, however, all objects hang suspended in midair, creating a dreamlike atmosphere. This version of Pantea drifts in and out of her past roles, sometimes in sync with the figure on screen, and sometimes consumed by the characters she once inhabited.

Kitchen Sink Drama was performed in the 6th Annual Monoleev Festival in Mowj-e-No Theater Hall.
